Heimatmuseum (museum of local history)

The museum of local history of Tambach-Dietharz is located in a typical dwelling house of the 16th /17th century, which used to serve carters as a homestead. Historically especially valuable is the originally preserved fume kitchen. You can see living rooms with furniture and clothes of the 16th century, as well as miscellaneous household items. So, the lifestyle of a carter family becomes present in an impressive way. A historical pharmacy room complements the exhibition that also focuses on the development of Tambach from a carter’s town to an industrial city, in two exhibition rooms.
